.:: Cat in the hat ::.
This kite is a one off and took me about two months to complete including the design faze. After purchasing a small stuffed toy version of this cat, I then pulled it apart and scaled it up. There are some modifications worked in as well as you can't just scale it up and hope it looks ok.
He is 18 meters long and uses about 120 meters of fabric. As this is like a big wind sock and the kite generates a lot of drag, it needs a pilot kite to give it some extra lift. It has only flown once here in New Zealand and that was during it's maiden test flight. After the initial test flight, I have flown him in the Netherlands, England and France. The kite is now owned by the Brighton kite flyers from England. I will not be making anymore Cat in The Hat kites, this is to comply with copyright laws.

.:: Ralph ::. |
Ralph was created from a cartoon character that I was drawing about 12 years ago. I never published this but when time permits I might do so.
I am currently working on a 9 meter version that I will be offering for sale here at my site. I am very pleased with the overall performance of this kite. The one pictured is the prototype and was photographed in the Netherlands. I have had it flying in Portsmouth-England and Dieppe-France and of course right here in New Zealand.
He looks very cartoon like with his big mustache and big white eyes. Made of ripstop and completely soft, this kite packs away small for easy storage.
