Pirouette
Pirouette
Pirouette is French for to whirl about, I thought it was an appropriate name for this 4.5 meter tall kite.
It has spinning parts on it to make it more interactive when in flight.
I flew it at a kite festival held in Napier and won a prize with it, that prize was to participate at the Bondi Int. Kite Festival in Australia.

It was the first time I used carbon fiber tubes in a kite.
Because of the price for these spars back in them days, I did not want to cut the spars that came in standard sizes, that is why you see the points at the bottom of this kite. The spinners turn alternately clockwise and anti clockwise, I did that to get rid of the tork that can upset the balance.

6 spinning panels on the sail.
